On Saturday, February 8th, 2013 the Rockport Beach was host to the Winter Clean Up sponsored by the Texas General Land Office.
Approximately 3 1/2 miles of Harbor, Beach and Shoreline were cleaned of 562.5 pounds of trash, primarily from the shoreline of Little Bay at Hwy 35. Most of this weight was comprised of parts of wooden piers, plastic bags, a rudder and even a cardboard boat.
Thank you to those pictured here & the Aquarium Fish Keepers from the Rockport Aquarium (also not pictured) that braved the rainy, cold conditions to help us keep our shores clean.
